IT and cybersecurity for nonprofit human services

Your staff stay focused on the people you serve. ALCON DTS runs the helpdesk, devices, and email behind every program site, with client information protected and IT costs you can plan into a budget or a grant.

Why it matters

What needs a plan

Program sites, offices, and staff in the field need the same standard everywhere.

Client records move through email, shared files, and the program systems your staff use every day.

Funders, auditors, and insurers ask how client information is protected.

One person, sometimes a volunteer, carries all of IT.

What’s included

What we run

ALCON DTS gives your organization a full support relationship through Remote IT, Total IT, Secure IT, or Co-Managed IT, at a per-user rate you can plan into a budget or a grant.

Every program site on one standard

All your sites come under one agreement, with each location on the plan that fits it. Most support is completed remotely. In Central Texas, Total IT and Secure IT include the visit when a request needs hands on site, and on Remote IT we dispatch a technician at a reduced hourly rate. Outside Central Texas, we dispatch a technician through a local partner or send an ALCON DTS technician to you, and handle the rest remotely. Travel costs are billed in addition to your plan.

Client information stays protected

Every plan includes managed endpoint protection (antivirus or EDR) on every device we manage and 24/7 system health monitoring. Total IT and Secure IT also include managed detection and response (MDR), and Secure IT adds email monitoring. Multi-factor authentication is available as an add-on on any plan, and we configure Conditional Access in your Microsoft 365 tenant. When you need centralized security log collection and review, our Security Monitoring (SIEM) service provides it.

Your program systems keep their vendors

Case management, health record, and donor platforms stay with their vendors. We run the accounts, devices, email, and network they depend on, with backup available as its own service.

License spend matches how people work

We manage Microsoft 365 day to day, and we also sell and manage Google Workspace licenses. On either platform, we review your licenses, including nonprofit licensing where your organization qualifies.

Staff spot phishing, and you can show the training happened

Total IT and Secure IT include cybersecurity awareness training, with completion records on file. Your IT lead, if you have one, can keep the work they know with Co-Managed IT adding depth behind them.

Rules and reviews

Answers for funders, auditors, and regulators

Some human services programs handle health or treatment information, and federal or state health privacy rules, along with the terms of your grants and contracts, may apply to them. Which ones apply depends on your programs, your funding, and the information you hold, so talk with your attorney about your obligations. Texas breach notification law generally reaches nonprofits as well as businesses that hold computerized sensitive personal information, such as Social Security numbers or health information. When a rule applies, we run the technical controls on the systems we manage and keep the evidence ready.

When a funder, auditor, or insurer asks how client information is protected, we draft the technical answers from the live environment for your review.

You keep the compliance decisions. We run the technical controls.

FAQ

It depends on what your programs do. HIPAA generally applies to health care providers that send claims or other standard transactions to health plans such as Medicaid electronically, including through a billing service, and to organizations that handle health information on behalf of a HIPAA-covered organization. An organization with both health care and other programs can often limit most HIPAA requirements to its health care programs by designating them. Federal rules add protections for substance use disorder treatment records in federally assisted programs, and Texas medical records privacy law reaches more organizations than HIPAA does. Talk with your attorney about which rules apply. Once you know, we run the technical controls on the systems we manage and keep the evidence ready.

Yes. Co-Managed IT supports the person who already runs your IT.

We review Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace licenses, including nonprofit licensing where your organization qualifies.

Remote IT, Total IT, and Secure IT are priced per user, per month, so you can plan IT into a budget or a grant. A review confirms the right plan.
